In my last post I introduced my AI art obsession. :D I've experimented a ton with the Dream app by Wombo on my phone, trying to get awesome images of characters and places from Hunter's Moon. It certainly isn't perfect, but I've improved my technique (which keywords I use, etc.) and gotten a lot of cool pics! This is the second in my series of character-spotlighting blog posts using AI art. Let's call this the Love Interest Edition, lol! In order of their appearance in the story: Luis Vargas tutors with Mel in the library, as well as working as a campus security guard. He and Mel have been casual friends for a while, but deeper feelings may be developing.... A former Boy Scout, Luis has a code of honor, and a kind heart. He stays out in the woods all night looking for a lost classmate, as one example. When Mel starts disappearing and coming back looking ill, Luis naturally becomes very concerned. Next up is Gavin Doyle...the mysterious Gavin! What can I say about him that isn't a spoiler? Hmmm. Gavin is a loner with a dark past. He has trust issues, and he's very secretive—he doesn't even use social media! Gavin goes to a different college than Melanie does; they meet at a volleyball game on her campus, Wellsboro. He and Mel definitely don't start off on the right foot.... (These pics actually make him look a little younger than he should. Especially the last one! I spent so long getting good images that I didn't feel like taking a few more hours to get him to look exactly the right age, LOL. If you type "man" he looks too old, "teen" he looks way too young, and I got these from using "young man" so they will have to do.) Last but not least, here's Aaron Gates, Pam's love interest. Aaron is a computer nerd (lol, I didn't decide that until long after I chose Gates for his last name; I just like the name). He has some tech skills that come in handy near the end of the book. He's a pretty minor character in Hunter's Moon, but I'm in the middle of writing a big scene from his point of view in the sequel, Blood Moon! Let's just say that he starts to get out more and become more outdoorsy.... Well, that's it for the Love Interest Edition! <3 Next time I will show some of the couples who are already together!
~~~ Sorry I closed comments, but I've gotten some negative ones on Instagram and don't have the time or spoons to deal with those. AI will never be able to replace human artists, or human writers either. I've played around with ChatGPT, having it write some essays for me, and they were quite dry. Oh, and AI can certainly never replace a human proofreader! I'm the kind of person who has trouble visualizing characters when I read (or write) a book, so this AI tool has added a whole new dimension for me, helping me connect with my characters a little better, and that can only improve/augment my writing! So I'm really grateful to have this tool! :) Comments are closed.
