Hi, guys! Just wanted to do a quick update because there's been a lot going on and I've been sick - I'm still getting over a cold (yes, just a cold, not you-know-what again) and I've got work to catch up on! So, here are the highlights of my month: Wedding!!! <3 <3 <3 My lil sis got married on the 19th! Yay!!! The ceremony and reception were beautiful and fun! :) It took place in Maryland, a 6-hour drive from where I live, and we stayed in a nice hotel for the weekend. It was a lovely getaway! The weather was perfect; the ceremony was able to be held outdoors and we didn't need jackets. I was the matron of honor, and I remembered what to do when - whew! ;) A lot of our family was able to be there, even some who live across the country or out of the country! <3 (I didn't take that many pictures since I was in the wedding party and had to ditch my phone while doing All The Things involved with that. And then I just got wrapped up in the fun and chatting with people. I'm hoping to soon gather a bunch of pictures that family members took! And of course waiting to see the professional photos.) My birthday...was the day after the wedding! Most of the fam who came to the wedding went out for brunch together at Cracker Barrel before we headed back home. So I spent 6 hours of that day driving/riding, but I didn't mind since it was still lovely weather and I didn't have to cook, clean, or walk the dog, and I was playing my favorite music and reading a couple chapters of a great book to Oscar as he drove. :) Pictured below, left: some cards/presents I got and my bouquet from the wedding. My dragon collection is growing! :D Right: the awesome book I was reading to Oscar! I finished it (myself; O and I are on ch. 8) that night, loooooved it!! A middle-grade book I highly recommend! Click the picture to go to the book's Amazon page. Editing AMAZING books! As of the day this blog entry was posted, I am done with the first round of proofreading for 2 out of the 3 books I currently have in my clutches! (Lol.) Yes, they're all Thinklings books, and they're sequels, and they're brilliant! If I didn't say that already... I can't wait until all the exciting social media posts start going up and these beautiful babies are released into the world! For now, here's a little sneak peek at the book that comes out first, The Blessed by Remy Apepp, which will be published on September 1st! (Yes, it's a sequel to Sand to Glass, but they can be read in any order.) The Blessed is a dark literary fantasy perfect for fans of Anne Rice books. It has an unreliable narrator, gorgeous prose, and a couple of great plot twists. You might want to have a box of tissues on hand! To balance out the dark fantasy, we've got a hilarious comedy/fantasy/adventure book coming out in November! Katherine Vick's Plot Bandits trilogy...is now a tetralogy! Her awesome little-guy heroes, the Disposables, are overturning every epic-fantasy trope and stereotype, including that of trilogies! Haha, perfect!! :D I wish I had a pretty picture already, but we haven't gotten the cover art for book 3 yet. I can tell you the title is The Narrative.
Thinking of cover art, didn't our cover designer, Nada Orlic, do a fantastic job on The Blessed??? :D ...Well, I'm going to wrap this post up now. I went on a book-shopping spree with birthday money this past weekend, but I'll save pics/info about that for next month! :) Happy spring, everyone!! P.S. - If you noticed I only talked about 2 of the 3 books I'm proofreading and wondered about the third...it's the fourth/final Plot Bandits book. :) It will come out next year; we'll try not to make you wait too long between books 3 and 4!! More info to follow! <3 P.P.S. - The sequel to Hunter's Moon is currently at ~71,000 words. I'm aiming for 100k, so that's 71%! :)
