In my last three posts, I introduced my AI art obsession. :D I've experimented a ton with the Dream app by Wombo on my phone, trying to get awesome images of characters and places from Hunter's Moon. It certainly isn't perfect, but I've improved my technique (which keywords I use, etc.) and gotten a lot of cool pics! This is the fourth, and maybe final, post in my series of character-spotlighting blog posts using AI art. I'm calling it "miscellaneous" since these characters don't really fit in a neat category together. Chandra Kapoor is a werewolf and a member of the Organization. I'd rather not say too much about her here because I don't like giving spoilers. Hmm, what can I say . . . She's 30 years old, beautiful, charismatic, and persuasive. She's high-ranked in the Organization and is dating one of its leaders, Simon. Even if she wasn't, the other guys wouldn't "try anything" because they know she isn't someone you should mess with. The snowy-nighttime images below are inspired by a scene in which Chandra meets Melanie (for the second time) and helps her out. The black wolf is Chandra's wolf form; for some reason, Dream was having a hard time giving me a picture of a wolf with all-black fur--at least I got a couple. In my "lore," the wolves have fur that's the color of the hair on their head when they're human. So Mel's wolf is dark brown/auburn colored, Gavin's is sandy blond, etc. Timmy Simmons is a total jerk and a bully (which is why I really don't understand why readers like him, LOL!!). He works for the school paper, the Sentinel, with main character Melanie. He's an obnoxious antagonist who not only spreads rumors but also drives Mel crazy; he has a habit of "correcting" her incorrectly while she's editing articles. Arrogant and somewhat naive, Timmy is obsessed with professional wrestling and thinks it's real. He also has trouble remembering names, calling Melanie "Melody" and Pam "Pat" . . . or does he do it on purpose? I'll let you decide that. ;) Later in the book, he develops a new obsession--one that's way more dangerous. . . . Nick Erickson is also a character I don't want to say too much about. He's in his late 40s and lives/travels around the country in an RV. As you can tell from the pics, he's not a happy-go-lucky guy. (: You'll understand why from book 1, and you'll understand more about why in book 2! (Which is currently ~83k words . . . ugh, the editing and rewriting are kicking my butt.) Erickson's probably the character I pity the most, or one of them. He's tired and worn out from so many years of trauma and horror and hiding. Both weary and wary. He's thought many times about ending it all, but he can't bring himself to do it. I really empathize with him . . . gosh, he's older than I am, but I've been dealing with autoimmune crap for 17 years, whereas he's only had his certain problem for about a dozen years . . . just thinking about that makes me crave a nap! ;P Well, that's all the character sketches and AI art I've got, at least for now! Hope you enjoyed them!
Next time I'm going to get back to my tradition of doing a mid-year reading check, so keep an eye out for that; I'll be sharing what (fiction) books I've read so far this year! :) ~~~ Sorry I closed comments, but I've gotten some negative ones on Instagram and don't have the time or spoons to deal with those. AI will never be able to replace human artists, or human writers either. I've played around with ChatGPT, having it write some essays for me, and they were quite dry. Oh, and AI can certainly never replace a human proofreader! I'm the kind of person who has trouble visualizing characters when I read (or write) a book, so this AI tool has added a whole new dimension for me, helping me connect with my characters a little better, and that can only improve/augment my writing! So I'm really grateful to have this tool! :) Comments are closed.
